Donald Trump\u2019s middle name is something that might surprise you, and it\u2019s got everything to do with its meaning.<\/p>\n

As the 45th and 47th President of the\u00a0United States<\/a>, Trump has made a significant impact on the nation.<\/p>\n

From his 2016 presidential term, to\u00a0his second inauguration just less than two weeks ago<\/a>, he has always had a very strong stance on a few topics, from\u00a0immigration<\/a>\u00a0to abortion to\u00a0trans rights.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, his middle name showcases a surprising meaning.<\/p>\n

Trump<\/a>\u00a0carries the middle name John, and while that might seem common to you, it\u2019s very telling of his roots.<\/p>\n

To find out why it\u2019s so surprising that Trump has this as his middle name, you first need to know his heritage.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s parents were Fred Trump, a real estate developer, and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump.<\/p>\n

His mother was an immigrant from Scotland, which is probably why is first and middle name have strong roots in Scotland, with John also being found in German history too.<\/p>\n

Not only did Mary Anne have a brother named John George MacLeod, but John is a name that many people in the US use to carry on remembrance for relatives who have passed.<\/p>\n

So, it\u2019s quite surprising that a president who is stringent on immigration came from an immigrant mother himself and further went on to marry\u00a0Melania<\/a>– an immigrant- and have a child with her too.<\/p>\n

Even more shockingly, people have only recently been realising what his full name means, and it\u2019s arguably fitting, depending on which side of the fence you sit on his presidency.<\/p>\n

The name John originates from Hebrew, and is derived from the word \u2018Yohanan,\u2019 which means to be \u2018graced by Yahweh.\u2019<\/p>\n

Donald is of Scottish origin, and means \u2018world ruler\u2018.<\/p>\n

Trump is German and comes from the word \u2018trumpe,\u2019 which goes on to mean \u2018drum\u2019 or \u2018to trumpet.\u2019<\/p>\n

All in all, Donald John Trump means: world ruler, graced by God, who proclaims loudly.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a name that could only happen as a fluke, or by very careful consideration from his parents.<\/p>\n

However, he doesn\u2019t actually use his middle name in his life, and simply chooses to forgo it when signing documents and in person.<\/p>\n

But, he did once go by the name \u2018Barron\u2019 and \u2018Baron\u2019 respectively a few decades ago, which might be a nod to Barron Hilton, the hotel entrepreneur who Trump once did a business deal with.<\/p>\n

Although, their relationship soured.<\/p>\n

Trump also used this name when he was having an affair and used it to sign off his risky messages to his lover.<\/p>\n

He then went on to name his youngest son,\u00a0Barron<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, it\u2019s safe to say that even though he\u2019s not using his middle name, he definitely has another name that he\u2019s keen on keeping around.<\/p>\n
