Vogue have been slammed after releasing a scathing review of Melania Trump’s official White House photo.<\/p>\n

The former model has returned to the role of First Lady following her husband,\u00a0Donald Trump’s<\/a>, inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.<\/p>\n

For her official image,\u00a0Melania<\/a>\u00a0could be seen\u00a0stood over a reflective desk<\/a>, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo jacket and suit pants, with many people claimed that the shot of the 54-year-old looked like an\u00a0image taken from the American\u00a0Apprentice<\/em><\/a>\u00a0– President\u00a0Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0former\u00a0reality show<\/a>, which ran from 2004 to 2017.<\/p>\n

And Vogue has been slammed for their opinion by fans of the First Lady, who defended the ‘elegant and powerful’ image.<\/p>\n

In a piece about the official photo, the outlet\u00a0wrote:<\/a>\u00a0“Indeed, Trump looked more like she was guest starring on an episode of\u00a0The Apprentice<\/em>\u00a0than assuming the role of first lady of the United States.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s perhaps unsurprising that a woman who lived in a gold-encrusted penthouse, whose fame is so intertwined with a reality television empire, would refuse to abandon theatrics\u2014even when faced with 248 years of tradition.”<\/p>\n

They also said that the photograph was ‘noticeably toned down’ in comparison to her 2017 official photo, adding: “This time, while the portrait remains more subdued, the Trumps are displaying wealth not through diamond rings but through the coterie of tech CEOs who sat in the front row at the 2025 inauguration, whose combined net worth was over a trillion dollars.”<\/p>\n

And their comments were met with backlash online.<\/p>\n

Right-wing\u00a0Newsmax<\/em>\u00a0host Todd Starnes wrote (via<\/a>\u00a0The Indepedent): “It’s unclear why Vogue directed their poisonous venom at Mrs. Trump. Envy, perhaps? Or it could just be that they hate bold, confident Republican women.<\/p>\n

“Melania Trump is a portrait of beauty, style, elegance and power. The Mean Girls who run the fashion magazines have an entirely different standard for style and beauty.”<\/p>\n

Author Scott Holleran also came to the First Lady’s defence.<\/p>\n

He noted: “I love the reflection of herself\u2014representing that First Lady Melania Trump is a hands-on president\u2019s wife – ready.”<\/p>\n

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum also joined the conversation, adding: “Cmon Vogue. For decades you told us to know our power and be thin and well dressed when wielding it, and you diss this portrait of our most stunning FLOTUS?”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kathy Gyngell, editor of\u00a0The Conservative Woman<\/em>, claimed a ‘magazine for women’ was ‘tearing pieces out of…women’.<\/p>\n

Despite supporting her husband throughout his election campaign, the First Lady has been open about sometimes disagreeing with her husband.<\/p>\n

Melania recently revealed in an interview with\u00a0Fox and Friends\u00a0<\/em>that\u00a0she doesn’t always see eye to eye<\/a>\u00a0with Trump.<\/p>\n

She said: “I gave him my advice, and sometimes he listens. Sometimes he doesn’t and that’s OK.<\/p>\n

“But I have my own thoughts, I have my own ‘yes’ and ‘no’.”<\/p>\n
