As the Chiefs\u00a0prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday, February 9, the narrative surrounding the team and their alleged preferential treatment from NFL officials has reached a fever pitch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with\u00a0Us Weekly<\/i>, Gronkowski, 35, argued that it\u2019s far more than just a coincidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s at another level for the Kansas City Chiefs right now,\u201d\u00a0 Gronkowski claimed while speaking to Us via his partnership with\u00a0Avocados From Mexico<\/a>. \u201cI think definitely they\u2019re more lenient to giving them more calls over anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the playoffs alone, collective eyebrows have been raised about some controversial calls that have gone in favor of the Chiefs. During Kansas City\u2019s Divisional Round game against the Houston Texans on January 18, Chiefs quarterback\u00a0Patrick Mahomes<\/strong>\u00a0was the beneficiary of two questionable roughing the passer penalties, which Mahomes, 29, was forced to address after the game.<\/p>\n

Chiefs tight end\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0accused of a \u201cflop\u201d that led to an unnecessary roughness penalty<\/a>\u00a0against Buffalo Bills defensive tackle\u00a0Brandon Phillips<\/strong>\u00a0during the AFC Championship game on Sunday, January 26. Later in the game, a razor-thin 4th and 1 call went the Chiefs way, which led to\u00a0a social media scuffle<\/a>\u00a0between Chiefs linebacker\u00a0Drue Tranquill<\/strong>\u00a0and Barstool Sports founder\u00a0Dave Portnoy<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gronkowski, a four-time Super Bowl champion, wished he had received the same treatment when he and the New England Patriots were running roughshod through the AFC in the 2010s.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was on the Patriots, I never got any calls,\u201d Gronkowski said. \u201cI was actually getting held. I was basically getting chopped right off the line of scrimmage and just hit the whole entire route. I was never getting calls my way. I didn\u2019t get any.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for his former quarterback\u00a0Tom Brady<\/strong>, Gronkowski claimed he \u201cgot a couple calls his way when I was on the team.\u201d Still, Gronkowski said the sport has drastically evolved since their time together in New England.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTom used to get lit up back in the day,\u201d Gronkowski explained. \u201cIf you\u2019ve seen some of those clips on Instagram, it\u2019s like, \u2018Whoa.\u2019 Your jaw is dropping about how much he used to get lit up. I\u2019m glad the game has changed a little bit and those hits have lessened up on quarterbacks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gronkowski and Brady, 47, won three Super Bowls together with the Patriots \u2014 in 2015, 2017 and 2019 \u2014 before winning another championship as teammates on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As for this year\u2019s Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Eagles, Gronkowski will have plenty of guacamole around to gorge on for the big game, all thanks to Avocados From Mexico.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re trying to get guac on every game day table,\u201d Gronkowski said. \u201cThat\u2019s what it\u2019s all about. We actually created the first-ever Guac Pack, which can hold your chips and guacamole. I prefer the buffalo guacamole because I\u2019m from Buffalo, so it just goes hand-in-hand. No doubt about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
