The officials found themselves\u00a0the center of attention multiple times<\/a>\u00a0during the NFC championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. Penalties\u2014both called and uncalled<\/a>\u2014drove debate online throughout the game.<\/p>\n

Here’s another one.<\/p>\n

Late in the second quarter as the Commanders were driving down the field, Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter jumped across the line. A penalty was called on Carter for encroachment, but he appeared to get away with poking Commanders’ center Tyler Biadasz in the eyes. Even if Biadasz was exaggerating the contact, Carter clearly stuck his hand in Biadasz’s helmet, which is generally not allowed.<\/p>\n
