Melania Trump took a brutal swipe about the ‘existing style’ of the White House while the Obamas lived in the residence.<\/p>\n

The First Lady had some strong words, as she described in her memoir how she found\u00a0the White House<\/a>\u00a0in 2017.<\/p>\n

The book, titled\u00a0Melania<\/em>, revealed the improvements that the\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0family felt needed to be made when they moved into the mansion.<\/p>\n

She claimed that the\u00a0Obamas<\/a>\u00a0denied the family ‘crucial’ early access to the residence, in order to start moving their things in and making changes.<\/p>\n

Melania noted that this was a ‘customary’ tradition that had dated back decades, but ‘protocols and\u00a0politics<\/a>‘ got in the way of their smooth transition.<\/p>\n

In the 256-page book, she wrote: “Unfortunately my plans to begin preparing the residence before the inauguration were disrupted by protocols and politics.<\/p>\n

“Sadly our team did not receive the access we had requested to visit the White House residence in December.”<\/p>\n

At the time, the mum-of-one recalled trying to find a suitable school for her son, Barron, to attend in Washington DC.<\/p>\n

She added: “While the logistics of relocating can be challenging, my priority was to create a sense of stability and familiarity for Barron during this transition.<\/p>\n

“I was dedicated to ensuring that he had a smooth and positive experience.”<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the time the family had to settle in, she said: “This delayed the planning process, and I was only able to begin renovations after the inauguration, once we were already in the White House.<\/p>\n

“Those three weeks would have been crucial for taking measurements, gathering plans, and starting preparations.”<\/p>\n

As well as complaining about how little prep time the Trump family had,\u00a0Melania<\/a>\u00a0didn’t hold back with her savage comments about how the Obamas kept the residence.<\/p>\n

She brutally noted: “The existing style was outdated or not to my taste.<\/p>\n

“Barron’s room was a priority. He was the first young boy to live in the White House since John Kennedy Jr, and the children’s bedrooms had been decorated for girls for sixty years, so it was important to create a space that suited Barron’s interests.”<\/p>\n

This time around, Melania has admitted she may not always be living at the White House with her husband.<\/p>\n

Instead, she will split her time between Washington DC, New York, and Florida.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0Fox and Friends,\u00a0<\/em>she said: “My first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a First Lady, to be a wife. And once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country.”<\/p>\n
