Dallas Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer\u00a0Michael Irvin<\/a>\u00a0believes Taylor Swift and\u00a0Caitlin Clark<\/a>\u00a0are trying to help the Kansas City Chiefs steal the \u201cAmerica\u2019s Team\u201d moniker from his old squad.<\/p>\n

Irvin spent his entire\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0career with the Cowboys, which spanned from 1988 to 1999. He led them to three Super Bowl championships over a four-year span (1992, 1993 and 1995) and was named to five Pro Bowls as well as the 1990s All-Decade Team.<\/p>\n

Swift has been in a relationship with Chiefs tight end\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/a>\u00a0for more than a year, bringing plenty more popularity and global exposure to the team. Clark, the new face of the WNBA, watched the Chiefs-Houston Texans Divisional Round Game with Swift at Arrowhead Stadium last week.<\/p>\n

During his interview on the \u201cIt Is What It Is\u201d podcast, Michael Irvin\u00a0stated that both<\/a>\u00a0Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark are trying to help the back-to-back Super Bowl champions become the next \u201cAmerica\u2019s Team\u201d, a moniker held by the team since 1978.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to talk about Caitlin Clark and Taylor Swift at the Kansas City Chiefs game. Those are two good old American girls. They\u2019re trying to make those Chiefs to all of them. They\u2019re trying to steal America\u2019s title.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Obviously, the world\u2019s biggest music star has played a significant role in the growth of the Chiefs. But it also helps that they\u2019ve emerged as the new golden franchise of professional North American sports teams.<\/p>\n

Michael Irvin, like countless Cowboys fans, understandably can\u2019t be happy with many giving the Chiefs that \u201cAmerica\u2019s Team\u201d moniker. But when you have the league\u2019s best player (Patrick Mahomes) and three Super Bowl titles in five years, you\u2019re going to attract a ton of bandwagon fans as well.<\/p>\n

Cowboys Haven\u2019t Been The Same Since Michael Irvin Retired<\/h2>\n

A serious neck injury forced Irvin to retire from football early after the 1999 season. And the Cowboys as a whole haven\u2019t been the same proud franchise since.<\/p>\n

They haven\u2019t played in the NFC Championship Game since 1995, the longest drought in football. Dallas has only won four playoff games in the 21st century, with three of those coming between the 2014-2022 seasons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
