A local meteorologist who worked for Milwaukee\u2019s CBS affiliate was fired from her job after she posted criticism on social media\u00a0denouncing Elon Musk as a \u201cNazi\u201d\u00a0<\/a>over his\u00a0controversial arm gesture\u00a0<\/a>at a pro-Trump rally.<\/p>\n

Sam Kuffel, the weather reporter for CBS 58, was let go by the station a day after she posted two items on her Instagram page condemning Musk.<\/p>\n

In one post, Kuffel commented on an image of Musk at the podium, writing: \u201cDude Nazi saluted twice. TWICE. During the inauguration.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cYou f\u2013k with this and this man, I don\u2019t f\u2013k with you. Full stop.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kuffel then posted a GIF from the hit TV show \u201cIt\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia\u201d along with the caption: \u201cScrew that old b\u2014h. He\u2019s a Nazi.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMeteorologist Sam Kuffel is no longer employed at CBS58,\u201d CBS 58 news director Jessie Garcia wrote to staffers in a memo that\u00a0was obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cA search for a replacement is underway.\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative of Weigel Broadcasting Co., the company that owns the station, confirmed the dismissal in an emailed statement to the Journal Sentinel on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Post has sought comment from Kuffel, CBS 58 and Weigel Broadcasting Co.<\/p>\n

Kuffel\u2019s post critical of Musk was spotted on Tuesday by Dan O\u2019Donnell, a conservative radio host, who\u00a0wrote on X<\/a>: \u201cCBS 58 meteorologist Sam Kuffel makes a pair of vulgar Instagram posts while spreading the lie that Elon Musk was giving a Nazi salute during yesterday\u2019s Presidential Inauguration.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell added that Musk said \u201cmy heart goes out to you\u201d when he made his gesture.<\/p>\n

Kuffel, who has worked at local stations in the Wisconsin area since graduating from college in 2016, made headlines this past fall when\u00a0she accused Fox Sports NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews<\/a>\u00a0of fabricating a weather alert during a Packers-Lions game in Green Bay.<\/p>\n

\u201cBegging Erin Andrews to stop making up weather alerts,\u201d Kuffel said in a since-deleted post on X, adding, \u201cstuff like this makes me irrationally angry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrews sent a message to the meteorologist,\u00a0writing\u00a0<\/a>on X, \u201chey Sam! Just saw the story [about] your tweet,\u201d Andrews wrote. \u201cLet me know the best way to touch base. Wanted to show you where Fox security (working the game) and I got our Weather Alert for the Packers game! Thx!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk\u00a0has defended the\u00a0one-armed gesture<\/a>\u00a0he gave during President Trump\u2019s inauguration \u2014 arguing the left-wingers who accused him of giving a Nazi salute \u201cneed better dirty tricks.\u201d<\/p>\n

The billionaire tech titan caused a stir on social media after he placed his right hand over his heart and then extended his arm into the air\u00a0as he thanked Trump\u2019s supporters on Monday ahead of the Inauguration Day parade.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrankly, they need better dirty tricks. The \u2018everyone is Hitler\u2019 attack is sooo tired,\u201d Musk, 53,\u00a0said in a post on X<\/a>\u00a0as he addressed the backlash.<\/p>\n

The SpaceX founder also thanked the Anti-Defamation League after it publicly dismissed Musk\u2019s motion as an \u201cawkward gesture\u201d and \u201cnot a Nazi salute.\u201d<\/p>\n
