Barron Trump has been defended after a move he pulled during his father\u2019s inauguration yesterday (20 January) received criticism.<\/p>\n

The event, which saw\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0become the 47th<\/sup>\u00a0President of the\u00a0United States<\/a>, had some rather controversial moments.<\/p>\n

For example,\u00a0Elon Musk was accused of performing a \u2018Nazi Salute\u2019<\/a>\u00a0on stage, and responded on his platform X to hit back at the accusations.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Tesla and SpaceX billionaire<\/a>\u00a0is said to have thrown his hand up during a speech at the celebratory rally at Capitol One Arena in Washington, as he told crowds about how much they have his \u2018heart\u2019.<\/p>\n

After floods of people came after him for the alleged sign, Musk took to social media to quote a previous tweet, in which he claimed Democrats would launch a campaign of \u2018dirty tricks\u2019 against him.<\/p>\n

He added: “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks.<\/p>\n

“The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired.”<\/p>\n

Another moment that caught viewers’ attention involved Trump\u2019s youngest son, Barron.<\/p>\n

Known as the tallest of the Trump clan<\/a>, Barron has been mostly out of the limelight since his father first took to the\u00a0presidential<\/a>\u00a0office in 2016.<\/p>\n

It all began when Barron was mentioned by his father on stage as Trump asked the crowd: \u201cHave you ever heard of him?\u201d<\/p>\n

He then went on to introduce his 18-year-old son, as having won over \u2018the youth vote\u2019, crediting him for helping him to win the election.<\/p>\n

“I have a very tall son,” Trump said. “He knew the youth vote. We won the youth vote by 36 points. He was saying – ‘Dad, you have to go out and do this one or that one’. We did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood them very well.”<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Barron got one of the biggest cheers of the evening, the BBC\u00a0reports<\/a>, and as he stood and thanked the crowd, he was seen putting his hand to his ear.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0social media<\/a>, viewers were quick to share their thoughts on the gesture.<\/p>\n

One wrote: \u201cHe was fine until he did the ear thing\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cDon\u2019t ever raise your children to Act like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, many have since defended the teen, with some claiming he either meant it as a joke or that he was simply showing his \u2018human\u2019 side.<\/p>\n

One viewer commented: \u201cPls stop, some can\u2019t hear laud noises. It\u2019s louder in their ears than it\u2019s in reality. Or vice verse. Be kind. Kindness reflects who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Someone else added: \u201cImagine being controversial because he did an \u2018ear thing\u2019\u2026?!?!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another claimed: \u201cMaybe its joke from young man.\u201d<\/p>\n

The hand-on-ear movement appears to be something Barron did to either hear the crowd or to signal \u2018I can\u2019t hear you\u2019, which could in turn make people cheer louder.<\/p>\n
