Newly unemployed Kamala Harris<\/a>\u00a0and second gentleman Doug Emhoff are slinking back to Los Angeles Monday \u2014 where they will pass out food to wildfire victims after\u00a0all but ignoring their plight for two weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former vice president has formally left the White House and is returning to her mansion in the wildfire ravaged city after losing the election to President Trump in the November.<\/p>\n

Harris is expected to fly to her home state with an all-female US Air Force crew, the first of which to ever operate a C-33,\u00a0MSNBC reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

Upon landing, Harris, 60, will visit a fire station where she will help dole out food to the victims of the most devastating wildfires in LA\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

The visit will be the first time she\u2019s visited her home state since the deadly blazes began Jan. 7 \u2014 despite her lavish $4.8 million\u00a0Brentwood home lying in the evacuation zone<\/a>\u00a0at the height of the threatening Palisades Fire.<\/p>\n

Harris was skewered last week for her trademark \u201cword salad\u201d as she attempted to urge displaced Angelinos not to rush back to homes that are still in evacuation zones.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s critically important that, to the extent you can find anything that gives you an ability to be patient in this extremely dangerous and unprecedented crisis, that you do,\u201d Harris said.<\/p>\n

Her return to the Golden State comes just one day after the former Vice President promised that she would not \u201cgo\u00a0quietly\u00a0into\u00a0the\u00a0night\u201d\u00a0and hinted that she would remain in the political spotlight.<\/p>\n

Harris has kept her future plans close to the vest, however \u2014 even in the face of rumors that she is mulling a run at California\u2019s governor seat in the 2028 election.<\/p>\n
