Carrie Underwood is proving to be a consummate performer \u2026 following an awkward moment during her Inauguration Day performance.<\/p>\n

Check it out \u2026 the \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d alum is introduced as the singer for a performance of \u201cAmerica the Beautiful\u201d following Donald Trump\u2019s swearing-in at the Capitol Rotunda Monday morning.<\/p>\n

While the country star appears ready to wow the audience in Washington, D.C., the Inauguration\u2019s tech team isn\u2019t quite prepared \u2026 as the backing track for her patriotic tune cuts out before CU is able to belt out one single word.<\/p>\n

At first, Carrie waits for the tech glitch to be rectified \u2026 awkwardly standing to the side with all eyes on her. However, after it becomes clear the background music will not be played, Carrie encourages the room of politicians to join her in an a cappella rendition of the tune.<\/p>\n

Though, it\u2019s safe to say Carrie is better versed in the song\u2019s lyrics than the D.C. elite \u2026 watch the vid, many stumble through the words as the \u201cBefore He Cheats\u201d artist sings out loudly into the mic.<\/p>\n

As TMZ previously reported \u2026 Carrie was named one of the Inauguration Day performers days before Trump\u2019s swearing-in. After being criticized for taking the gig, Carrie issued a statement defending her decision \u2026 in which she declared her love for the country and said she was honored to have \u201ca small part\u201d on this historic day.<\/p>\n

She encouraged others to see her choice as one made in \u201cthe spirit of unity\u201d \u2026 though, we\u2019re not sure her critics online would agree.<\/p>\n
