PHILADELPHIA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 A Philadelphia Eagles fan has responded after being banned from going to games, fired from his job, and widely shamed on social media because of a tirade directed at a Packers fan.<\/p>\n The Eagles hosted the Packers on Sunday evening in the wildcard round of the playoffs. Philadelphia had no trouble on the field, jumping out to an early lead and beating Green Bay, 22-10.<\/p>\n But that outcome turned into an afterthought for most of the world when a video surfaced of an Eagles fan heckling a Packers fan inside Lincoln Financial Field.<\/p>\n In the video, a woman wearing Packers gear is celebrating a replay review, and a man in Eagles gear in the row behind starts to berate her.<\/p>\n The man, later identified as Ryan Caldwell, called the woman an \u201cugly, dumb c—.\u201d<\/p>\n When the woman\u2019s fiance, who was filming the interaction, told Caldwell not to speak to her that way, Caldwell said, \u201cYou gonna do anything? Shut the f— up.\u201d<\/p>\n Millions of people watched the exchange after the woman\u2019s fiance posted it on social media.<\/p>\n Fans from both teams condemned Caldwell\u2019s behavior, alongside thousands of others, and that\u2019s when people started to try to identify him.<\/p>\n More than 10 million people watched the video on X within 24 hours.<\/p>\n The Philadelphia Eagles quickly banned Caldwell from attending any future events at the stadium, according to the New York Post.<\/p>\n That doesn\u2019t just include Eagles games, but concerts and any other events.<\/p>\n The social media investigators who identified Caldwell learned that he worked at BCT Partners, a DEI-focused management consulting firm in East Brunswick, New Jersey.<\/p>\n The company released a statement on Tuesday saying, in part, \u201cWe have decided to part company with the employee. … We condemn our former employee\u2019s conduct in the strongest possible terms. What began as banter with two Packers fans sitting near me escalated to something more serious, and I said things that were unacceptable. In the heat of the moment, I chose unforgiving words to address one of the fans, Ms. Ally Keller. I want to sincerely apologize to Ms. Keller for those words, and to my wife, family, and friends, my former employer and colleagues, Packer fans, Eagle fans, the Philadelphia Eagles, the City of Philadelphia, and all who were offended. That said, there are two sides to every story. The video clip circulating online does not reflect the full context of what transpired, and my actions were not without provocation. I will live with this experience, and I am certainly paying a personal price.
