If you bring the r\u00e9sum\u00e9 to the table that\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0quarterback Patrick Mahomes does\u2014six Pro Bowl appearances, three world championships and two MVPs\u2014you are going to get the benefit of the doubt on some calls.<\/p>\n

Still, that doesn’t mean observers\u2014such as ESPN announcer and Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman\u2014have to like it.<\/p>\n

With 1:41 left in the third quarter of the Chiefs’ divisional-round rendezvous with the\u00a0Houston Texans<\/a>, a slide by Mahomes caused two Texans defenders to run into each other. The play drew a flag for unnecessary roughness, which Aikman criticized on air after\u00a0rebuking a similar marginal moment<\/a>\u00a0earlier.<\/p>\n
