\u201cIt felt too important not to [speak up] and I love the Olympic Games, I love them. My husband [Val Bure<\/strong>] is a two-time Olympic medalist, so is my brother-in-law, and my father-in-law is a three-time Olympic medalist,\u201d Cameron Bure, 48, said in a Sunday, July 28,\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0video. \u201cI have many friends that have competed in Games over the years and it\u2019s something as a kid I have always loved \u2026 the Olympic Games have\u00a0always brought me so much joy<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cIt\u2019s the best of the best athletes in the world competing for the title, so to watch such an incredible event that\u2019s going to take place over the next two weeks and see the opening ceremonies complexly blasphemed and mock the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper was disgusting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Last Supper<\/i>\u00a0is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, in which Jesus Christ sits at a long table with his disciples. The meal was presumed to be his final outing ahead of his death. During the Friday, July 26, opening ceremony, a group of drag performers appeared to take on the roles of the apostles.<\/p>\n

For Cameron Bure, she was disheartened to see the dancers allegedly \u201cmock\u201d her religion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt made me so sad and someone said, \u2018You shouldn\u2019t be sad. You should be mad about it,\u2019\u201d the\u00a0Full House\u00a0<\/i>alum added. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Trust me, it makes me mad, but I\u2019m more sad because I\u2019m sad for souls.\u2019 I pray for my heart to break over what breaks God\u2019s heart and I just think about all the people that have rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ or don\u2019t know the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the Bible, in Galatians, it says, \u2018God is not mocked for whatever a person sows he will also reap because the one who sows \u2026 will reap destruction from the flesh.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Other Olympic fans interpreted the scene as a representation of the Greek festival of Dionysus.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Dionysus] is a god of lust, insanity, religious ecstasy, ritual madness [and] I still don\u2019t see how that relates to unifying the world through competitive sports and acceptable for children to watch,\u201d Cameron Bure claimed in her social media caption. \u201cIn any case, I\u2019m not buying it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several stars agreed with Cameron Bure\u2019s stance. Fellow Great American Media star\u00a0Carlos PenaVega<\/strong>\u00a0responded to her Instagram post by sharing \u201c\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25<\/span>\u201d emojis.<\/p>\n

Kansas City Chiefs kicker\u00a0Harrison Butker<\/strong>, whose Christian beliefs made headlines in May based on his remarks in a commencement address, also vocalized his disapproval of the performance.<\/p>\n
