Megyn Kelly criticized ABC\u2019s \u201cWorld News Tonight\u201d anchor David Muir\u00a0for his display of \u201cabject vanity\u201d while covering the wildfires in Los Angeles\u00a0<\/a>where he was pilloried for wearing a yellow firefighter jacket that was cinched at the back with clothespins, presumably to achieve a more fitted appearance.<\/p>\n

Kelly blasted Muir for \u201cwearing a fake fireman\u2019s jacket\u201d while doing an on-location report\u00a0from devastated areas in Southern California.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you\u2019re seeing on the close up as he turns to reference the scene behind him and shows us his back, which clearly he wasn\u2019t anticipating would make it on cam, his clothes pins, pulling his jacket in, cinching it\u2026so that his waist looks more svelte on camera,\u201d Kelly said\u00a0during Thursday\u2019s episode of her SiriusXM podcast \u201cThe Megyn Kelly Show.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe abject vanity of this man,\u201d Kelly added. She eviscerated Muir for \u201cpretending to be a fireman\u201d while\u00a0reporting from the scene.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not dress up time,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s something that my little boys did when they were still in the single digits\u2026not on the news when people are dying.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly seemed incredulous while noting that Muir put a clothespin on the back of his jacket.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, he\u2019s an actor who\u2019s worried about his own vanity and beauty on camera. God forbid you think David Muir might be a little boxy in the waist,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The Post has sought comment from ABC News.<\/p>\n

Muir was roasted on social media as \u201cpathetic\u201d and \u201cnarcissistic\u201d for using the clamps to cinch his jacket.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you can see here behind me,\u201d Muir says as he turns to point to charred rubble behind his back.<\/p>\n

As he looks behind him, a wooden clamp, which tightens the ill-fitting ABC News-branded jacket and shows off the anchor\u2019s torso, is clearly visible.<\/p>\n

\u201cNice Jacket Bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothes line pegs, while our city burns to the ground,\u201d Jack Obsourne wrote in a\u00a0caption to the video in an X post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other users added their two cents \u2014 calling Muir \u201cpathetic,\u201d \u201cnarcissistic\u201d and a litany of other insults.<\/p>\n

Using clothespins to cinch clothes is a standard television styling maneuver done in lieu of more traditional and permanent tailoring.<\/p>\n
