Dallas Cowboys<\/a>\u00a0owner\u00a0Jerry Jones<\/a>\u00a0wasted little time making one thing clear after the club\u2019s regular season concluded on Sunday: Jerry the GM isn\u2019t going anywhere.<\/p>\n Calls for Jerry Jones to relinquish the general manager duties grew significantly during a disappointing 2024 season that saw Dallas finish 7-10, missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2020.<\/p>\n Per The Athletic\u2019s Jon Machota, Jones told reporters\u00a0after the game<\/a>\u00a0that he will retain his duties as the Cowboys\u2019 general manager. Jones has kept himself in the GM and president chairs since he purchased the football team in 1989.<\/p>\n Also of note for Cowboys fans: Jones stated that he has not made a final decision on head coach Mike McCarthy, whose five-year contract is up.<\/p>\n Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has not made a decision on the future of the team\u2019s head coaching position. When asked about the possibility of other team\u2019s wanting to interview Mike McCarthy, Jones said he\u2019s fine with that.
