UPDATE: The Kansas City Chiefs were able to take off from KCI after being stuck on the runway for hours. The team has officially landed in Denver for their Week 18 game against the Denver Broncos, according to\u00a0FlightAware.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s plane traveled through the heavy storm to make it to Colorado, but\u00a0the team has arrived<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and is on the ground as of around 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2014 Ahead of the Chiefs\u2019 Week 18 matchup with the Denver Broncos, severe winter weather has swept into the metro.<\/p>\n

While the team was set to depart this afternoon, the weather, along with a broken-down treatment truck, forced KCI to shut down the airfield. Now, the FOX4 sports team has confirmed\u00a0their plane is stuck on the runway<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs-Broncos game is set for tomorrow at 3:25 p.m. Depending on how long the KCI airfield remains closed, the game may need to be rescheduled.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs originally planned to leave before the storm could affect their travel plans, however, the plane they were set to fly in was delayed arriving to KCI.<\/p>\n

As of around 4:45 p.m., City Manager\u00a0Brian Platt claims<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0that KCI runways will \u201creopen and resume normal operations in about 30 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
