Former\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a>\u00a0defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson has passed away at the age of 43.<\/p>\n

Wilkerson, who also played for the\u00a0New Orleans Saints<\/a>\u00a0and Seattle Seahawks, was reportedly found dead after suffering a heart attack.<\/p>\n

A sixth-round pick in the 2003\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0Draft, Wilkerson won a national championship with the Olkahoma Sooners before making the move to the pros.<\/p>\n

He is understood to have died on December 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a great teammate,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>former Saints linebacker Scott Shanle said.\u00a0\u201cHe fit into our locker room perfect. He was only here for a year but we were talking about it on our group chat, and everybody remembered Jimmy. He was just a standup dude.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
