Luigi Mangione,<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>the man accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO\u00a0Brian Thompson,<\/strong>\u00a0will reportedly be housed in the same New York City jail as\u00a0Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mangione, 26, arrived in New York from Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 19, to be arraigned on federal murder charges. If convicted of the crime, he could face the death penalty.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0CNN<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0ABC News<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0Mangione is now in federal custody and will be housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn \u2013 the same jail where Combs, 55, has been held since September.<\/p>\n

Mangione and Combs also have another connection; the pair\u00a0share the same lawyer<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Marc Agnifilo<\/strong>. Agnifilo appeared in federal court with wife\u00a0Karen Friedman Agnifilo<\/strong>\u00a0on Thursday to inform\u00a0Judge Katharine Parker<\/strong>\u00a0that they will be representing Mangione.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Friedman Agnifilo\u2019s firm, Agnifilo Intrater LLP, confirmed to\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0on Monday, December 16, that she was retained to represent Mangione in New York. Friedman Agnifilo will \u201cnot be making any statements at this time,\u201d the spokesperson told\u00a0Us.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mangione was named as the prime suspect in Thompson\u2019s death earlier this month. Thompson was fatally shot in front of a Manhattan hotel on December 4. Following a five-day search, Mangione was arrested on December 9.<\/p>\n

A New York grand jury indicted Mangione on terrorism charges on Tuesday, December 17, in addition to first-degree murder. He also faces charges for possessing weapons and forged instruments.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Federal prison consultant\u00a0Sam Mangel<\/strong>\u00a0previously explained to\u00a0Us<\/em>\u00a0what conditions are like at MDC, noting that contraband and anything with sharp edges or pins are prohibited at the facility.<\/p>\n

Visitor stays usually last 30 minutes and are limited to four people at a time, while phone calls are capped at 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

Mangel added that staffers give prisoners time in the enclosed recreation yard to play sports tournaments, and they\u2019re free to enjoy dominos, chess and card games. Religious services are usually offered, and TVs are on and tuned into major sports events.<\/p>\n

Mangione has dominated headlines in recent weeks, with reports that a documentary\u00a0is already in the works<\/a>. Filmmaker\u00a0Stephen Robert Morse<\/strong>, best known for his work on Netflix\u2019s\u00a0Amanda Knox<\/em>, is developing the project.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Combs has been behind bars since his arrest earlier this year.<\/p>\n

In March 2024, several of Combs\u2019 homes \u2014 including residences in Miami and Los Angeles \u2014 were raided by Homeland Security in connection to a sex trafficking investigation. In September, Combs was arrested in New York City and indicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied all allegations against him. (His trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025.)<\/p>\n

Since Combs\u2019 arrest, more than 20 civil suits have been filed against him, and he has denied all charges.<\/p>\n

After Diddy was arrested, Agnifilo said during an appearance on CNN\u2019s\u00a0The Source With Kaitlan Collins<\/em>\u00a0that his client is not guilty. \u201cHe\u2019s innocent,\u201d Agnifilo said. \u201cI believe he\u2019s innocent. I believe he\u2019s innocent of the charges,\u201d he said. \u201cHe is going to go to trial.
