Ana Orsini\u2019s loved ones are wearing pink to remember the 28-year-old Arizona news anchor who died last week.<\/p>\n
The journalist\u2019s colleagues at CBS affiliate KOLD-TV in Tucson\u00a0shared the tragic news<\/a>\u00a0of her death during a broadcast on Monday, Dec. 16.<\/p>\n \u201cSad news to share with you, our beloved friend and co-anchor Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week,\u201d anchor Tyler Butler told viewers.<\/p>\n Co-anchor Carsyn Currier added, while choking back tears: \u201cAna has been here at 13 News since June of 2023, and we are devastated by this loss.\u201d<\/p>\n As Butler reached over to hold Currier\u2019s hand, the two began sharing memories of the Colorado native.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had the opportunity to work with her every day, and we do want you to know that what you saw with her on air, the funny, crazy person she was, she was just like that off-camera and more so,\u201d Butler said.<\/p>\n Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for\u00a0PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/a>\u00a0to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer\u200b\u200b, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n Orsini’s cause of death has not been released.<\/p>\n Orsini previously worked at a Lubbock, Texas news station as her first job after graduating from Texas A&M University in College Station. Before arriving at KOLD, she spent three years as a morning\/midday anchor in Medford, Ore., covering everything from \u201cmajor wildfires to helping shelter pets find their forever homes,\u201d\u00a0according to her bio<\/a>.<\/p>\n Now, those who knew Orsini are mourning her death \u2014 and remembering the\u00a0effervescent journalist who often said “Let the women do the work!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe was truly one of a kind.,\u201d\u00a0Butler wrote on Facebook<\/a>. \u201cCrazy passionate about helping animals, she had a great and sarcastic sense of humor, and was so dedicated to her family. She LOVED her family and talked about them all the time. I\u2019m glad to have been a small part of her work family.\u201d<\/p>\n
