On Monday, December 9, a\u00a0wildfire erupted<\/a>\u00a0and began advancing toward nearby communities, prompting mandatory evacuation orders by early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n The county’s fire department announced that the\u00a0brush fire<\/a>\u00a0stretched for 100 acres at the time of the initial report, and covered mostly the Malibu Canyon.<\/p>\n They have issued mandatory\u00a0evacuation orders for areas<\/a>\u00a0east of Malibu Canyon Road and south of Piuma Road.<\/p>\n Fire crews are actively responding to contain the blaze.<\/p>\n Very dry winds have also caused the wildfire to\u00a0spread quickly<\/a>\u00a0toward\u00a0Pepperdine University<\/a>, which has activated its shelter-in-place protocol.<\/p>\n
