Former NFL quarterback\u00a0Tom Brady<\/a>\u00a0believes\u00a0Trevor Lawrence<\/a>\u00a0is partially accountable for the hit from Azeez Al-Shaair hit that left the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback concussed in Sunday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

In the second quarter of the Jaguars-Houston Texans contest, Trevor Lawrence took a vicious hit to the head from Azeez Al-Shaair as he was giving himself up and sliding near the first down marker.<\/p>\n

Al-Shaair was ejected from the game, and the league\u00a0announced\u00a0<\/a>a three-game suspension for him on Wednesday. Lawrence was diagnosed with a concussion and did not return to the contest, which Houston won 23-20.<\/p>\n

During his appearance on \u201cThe Herd with\u00a0Colin Cowherd<\/a>\u201d, Tom Brady stated he has \u201cmixed emotions\u201d on the hit. Brady also believes that Lawrence could have done a better job to protect himself and avoid the collision with Al-Shaair.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefensive players have to be aggressive. That\u2019s their nature\u2026the defense tries to tackle aggressively. There\u2019s an aspect to me that I think, the quarterbacks need to take better care of themselves.<\/p>\n

I see Josh Allen running a lot, I see Lamar Jackson running a lot. And it\u2019s a great skill set to have\u2026and at the same time, when you run, you put yourself in a lot of danger. And when you do that, I don\u2019t think the onus of protecting an offensive quarterback who\u2019s running should be on a defensive player. I don\u2019t really think that\u2019s fair to the defense.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
