They also signed 24-year-old linebacker Shaka Heyward, the cousin of Pittsburgh Steelers star defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, to the active roster.<\/p>\n<p>Irwin entered the\u00a0<a class=\"mai-link-injected\" href=\"https:\/\/www.totalprosports.com\/nfl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NFL<\/a>\u00a0as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in 2019, signing with the Miami Dolphins. The year before, Irwin caught a career-high four touchdown passes (15 receptions and 231 yards).<\/p>\n<p>Irwin finishes his tenure as a Bengal with 46 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns. Given his decent production as a complementary piece for the\u00a0<a class=\"mai-link-injected\" href=\"https:\/\/www.totalprosports.com\/tag\/joe-burrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Burrow<\/a>-led Bengals offense, Irwin shouldn\u2019t have to wait too long to land another NFL contract.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-cincinnati-bengals-playoff-hopes-ended-with-loss-to-steelers\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cincinnati Bengals\u2019 Playoff Hopes Ended With Loss To Steelers<\/h2>\n<p>The Bengals\u2019 44-38 loss to the Steelers at home all but ended their chances of qualifying for the postseason.
