Tom Brady made a brutal \u2018discovery\u2019 about his Fox Sports contract on Sunday \u2013 as the NFL legend was informed he\u2019d have to work on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

Brady, who called the Packers\u2019 win over the 49ers for the network earlier in the afternoon, appeared on Fox\u2019s \u2018The OT\u2019 postgame show when host Curt Menefee dropped some big news on him.<\/p>\n

\u2018Hey Tom, [Michael] Strahan\u2019s first year, he learned that he actually had to work on Thanksgiving Day,\u2019 Menefee began.<\/p>\n

\u2018He thought he had it off. Did they tell you that before you came? You have to work on Thanksgiving Day this year!\u2019<\/p>\n

Brady then pretended to make a shocked face before saying, \u2018What?\u2019<\/p>\n

He then laughed off the joke from Menefee before Strahan jokingly suggested they skip work and have Thanksgiving together.<\/p>\n

Fox will be carrying the Giants\u2019 matchup with the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

Brady is in his first year as Fox Sports\u2019 lead NFL analyst following his retirement from the NFL in February 2023.<\/p>\n

He signed a 10-year, $375million deal before finally beginning to call games this fall.<\/p>\n

Brady was criticized by fans earlier in the season as he debuted on air.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged in a YouTube video on his channel that his first showing \u2013 in which he called a Cowboys-Browns games \u2013 had some room for improvement.<\/p>\n

\u2018Certainly a lot of fun, definitely some things to clean up,\u2019 he said. \u2018So it\u2019s all a learning process.\u2019<\/p>\n

Brady\u2019s broadcasting role has also come under fire given his part-ownership with the Raiders, which was officially approved by NFL owners last month.<\/p>\n

Due to that commitment, Brady cannot attend teams\u2019 practices or production meetings with players or coaches \u2013 as is customary for broadcasters to do.<\/p>\n

He is also not permitted to criticize game officials and other clubs, while he is subject to the NFL\u2019s gambling and anti-tampering policies.<\/p>\n

Brady also found himself embroiled in controversy when he used offensive language to refer to Bills quarterback Josh Allen.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sometimes he played like a spaz, like a grade-schooler on a sugar high, but now he\u2019s controlled the chaos,\u2019 he said last month.<\/p>\n

\u2018Spaz\u2019 is a slang term which is an abbreviation of the word \u2018sp*stic,\u2019 that is an offensive term often used to someone who is awkward or clumsy. It is considered to be an ableist slur.<\/p>\n
