The\u00a0New York Jets<\/a>\u00a0could follow the New York Giants in cutting their starting quarterback, with\u00a0Aaron Rodgers<\/a>\u2019 place in the team now rumored to be under threat following Daniel Jones\u2019 exit.<\/p>\n Rodgers is clearly not the answer to the Jets\u2019 problems. The veteran QB was expected to be the team\u2019s savior, but that experiment has turned out to be an abject failure, and it doesn\u2019t appear that he has much of a future in NY.<\/p>\n The Athletic\u2019s Dianna Russini broke the news that the team\u2019s owner, Woody Johnson, wanted to bench Rodgers and play Tyrod Taylor but allowed coaches to change his mind.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter losing to Denver, Woody Johnson suggested in a contentious meeting that they bench Rodgers because he felt the QB wasn\u2019t playing well. The coaches pushed back and asked each other if he was serious,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>she wrote in a piece earlier this week.<\/p>\n Russini has since reported that the team could do away with the QB altogether and\u00a0release him before the end of the season<\/a>.<\/p>\n As the Jets commence with another organizational shift, it will likely be without Aaron Rodgers.<\/p>\n Some around the league wouldn\u2019t be surprised to see him cut before the season is over.
