At least four professional athletes have had their homes burglarized in recent weeks, leading authorities to investigate whether the crimes are connected.<\/p>\n
On Nov. 3, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis posted a video on Instagram\u00a0saying he had been robbed<\/a>\u00a0during his team\u2019s game the day before when the thieves took \u201cmost\u201d of his \u201cprized possessions\u201d from his home.<\/p>\n He also shared surveillance video of the incident and\u00a0posted another video<\/a> on Nov. 6, in which he said, \u201cI am now offering a 40K cash reward for any information and tips that leads to the return of my stolen items.\u201d<\/p>\n Portis isn’t the only NBA player who has recently been the victim of a burglary. In September, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that multiple suspects\u00a0broke into the home<\/a>\u00a0of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. while he was at a Minnesota Vikings game.<\/p>\n In October, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were also the\u00a0victims of break-ins<\/a>\u00a0in their respective homes.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s frustrating, disappointing, but I can\u2019t get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing, but, obviously, something you don\u2019t want to happen to really anybody,\u201d Mahomes\u00a0told reporters<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to police reports obtained by NBC News, Mahomes\u2019 eight-acre Missouri estate, which was featured on the Netflix series \u201cQuarterback,\u201d was targeted Oct. 6. Kelce had $20,000 in cash stolen from his house in Leawood, Kansas,\u00a0according to a police report obtained by NBC affiliate KSHB<\/a>. Both burglaries occurred while the players were in New Orleans for an Oct. 7 game against the Saints.<\/p>\n Kelce has previously said that he feels like a target.<\/p>\n
