Nearly one month after the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his teammate\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0were\u00a0victims of burglaries<\/a>\u00a0in their respective Kansas City-area homes, he shared insight into his initial reaction.<\/p>\n “It’s frustrating,” Patrick\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0during the Kansas City Chiefs press conference Nov. 13,\u00a0one day after news of the robberies broke. “It’s disappointing. I can’t get into too many details because the investigation is still ongoing. It’s obviously something you don’t want happening to anybody, but especially yourself.”<\/p>\n Patrick’s Belton, MO., estate\u2014where he lives with pregnant wife\u00a0Brittany Mahomes<\/strong><\/a>, daughter\u00a0Sterling<\/strong><\/a>, 3, and son\u00a0Bronze<\/strong><\/a>, 23 months\u2014was broken into Oct. 6, according to a police report obtained by\u00a0People<\/em>. The following day, Travis’ Leawood, Kan., mansion was broken into after their Oct. 7 game against the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.<\/p>\n For Patrick and Brittany, both 29,\u00a0who tied the knot in March 2022, building their own home on eight acres of land in 2020 was a special milestone in the player’s NFL career.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n “I actually decided to get the land, to get ready to build that right when I signed my contract here in Kansas City,” Patrick, explained in Netflix’s docuseries\u00a0Quarterback<\/em>. “I knew I wanted to be here. So when I did that, I was like, ‘Imma be here, I might as well build the exact house I want.'”<\/p>\n And no matter what, the high school sweethearts have found support in one another during difficult chapters in life. For instance, Brittany previously shared\u00a0how her husband’s advice helped her<\/a>\u00a0become more secure in herself, especially since being pals with Travis’ girlfriend\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/a>put a bigger spotlight on her.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n “He always told me to stop caring what people think, especially the people that don’t even know you,” the\u00a0Sports Illustrated<\/em>\u00a0Swimsuit\u00a0<\/em>model explained on the\u00a0Whoop<\/em><\/a>\u00a0podcast in August. “I think social media used to get to me a lot and now, honestly, I don’t give a f–k what people have to say about me anymore.”<\/p>\n “I think he’s helped me get to that point to where I’m strong in who I am, I’m confident in who I am, I’m confident in mine and his relationship,” she continued. “I’m confident in our life, so why does what other people say have to matter at all?”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Patrick\u00a0gushed over Brittany\u2019s ability<\/a>\u00a0to focus on what matters, even when it\u2019s difficult.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n “She was an athlete growing up,” he told\u00a0<\/a>E! News<\/em><\/a>\u00a0last July. “If you played any sports, you know [there are] as many people that enjoy how you play and the effort that you give [as] people that are always going to hate on you. And so she has a good sense of that.”<\/p>\n As for her perspective? “Enjoy your life every single day and not worry about what everyone thinks,” he added. “Life’s short. You want to enjoy those moments and remember those moments.
