Penn State police have released a statement on Jason Kelce\u00a0smashing a fan’s phone to the ground<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0over the weekend in response to a shocking remark.<\/p>\n

Kelce – who was on campus to appear on ESPN’s College GameDay – was walking through a crowd of people when one man called his brother Travis a ‘f*****’ for dating\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

And while Kelce went viral for breaking a fan’s phone immediately after that homophobic remark, campus police\u00a0told Page Six<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on Saturday that no incident report has been filed on the matter.<\/p>\n

As seen in footage of the incident, Kelce picked up the fan’s phone and walked away with it after smashing it, leading the fan to chase him down and\u00a0say ‘give me my phone.’<\/p>\n

Kelce then replied, ‘Who’s the f***** now?’<\/p>\n

It is unclear whether the phone belonged to the male who made the disparaging comment about Travis.<\/p>\n

Former Eagles star Kelce, who is now an analyst for ESPN, was praised by many on social media, with one calling him ‘an icon’ for his reaction to the fan.<\/p>\n

However, at least one Philadelphia media member slammed the city legend for his actions, as\u00a0Jon Marks of PHLY Sports<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0insisted, ‘He can’t be spiking people’s phones’.<\/p>\n

‘Kelce has to realize that his profile is bigger than it ever was as a player,’ he wrote on X.<\/p>\n

‘He’s making big $$ across multiple platforms and his brother might marry the biggest pop star ever. He can’t be spiking people’s phones. He needs security to deal with this s***’.’<\/p>\n

The former center’s profile has risen immensely due to his brother Travis’ relationship to pop star Taylor Swift over the past year.<\/p>\n

And the couple were both ‘really shocked by this considering Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world,’ a\u00a0source close to them told DailyMail.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

‘It really became clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means the world to him.<\/p>\n

‘The use of the word f***** is not okay with him nor anyone. This fan crossed the line. Jason will never stand for anyone insulting his family and he views Taylor as family now.’<\/p>\n

The two brothers are extremely close, with their bond – as well as Kelce’s romance with Swift – a key factor in recently landing a $100million deal to produce their New Heights podcast.<\/p>\n

Travis was at his brother’s retirement press conference earlier this year where Jason made the announcement and both brothers wept as the Eagles hero ended his career.<\/p>\n

Kelce appeared on College GameDay on Saturday ahead of the massive matchup between Penn State and Ohio State, which the latter won 20-13.<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl winner and future Hall of Famer has become something of a cult hero among NFL fans due to his everyman sensibilities and propensity for partying.<\/p>\n

He was seen drinking\u00a0chugging a beer shirtless at a Chiefs playoff game<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0last year and has regularly been seen hanging out among fans without trouble.<\/p>\n

Kelce has even bartended for Eagles fans at a charity fundraiser in South Jersey.<\/p>\n

Jason’s next public appearance is slated for Monday night, when he heads to Kansas City to call Travis in action for the Chiefs against the Bucs.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
