The NFL season doesn\u2019t officially kick off for another six weeks, but tensions are already high for\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the Kansas City Chiefs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After Chiefs defensive end\u00a0George Karlaftis<\/strong>\u00a0knocked wide receiver\u00a0Kadarius Toney<\/strong>\u00a0to the ground<\/a>\u00a0with a questionable hit at day 4 of the team\u2019s training camp on Wednesday, July 24, Kelce, 34, rushed over to the scene as Toney threw the football angrily at Karlaftis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kelce got in the face of Karlaftis, clearly unhappy with the third-year player taking out Toney as the whistle blew during the non-padded practice.<\/span><\/p>\n

After their helmets came together, Kelce shoved Karlaftis before things broke up without further incident.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Fox 4 News Kansas City reporter\u00a0PJ Green<\/strong><\/a>, Chiefs head coach\u00a0Andy Reid<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cgave Toney some words as he walked by,\u201d but \u201cnot a big fuss was made\u201d as the practice resumed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Karlaftis, 23, is entering his third year with the Chiefs having started in all 33 games he\u2019s played for the team since being drafted with the 30th overall pick in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Toney, 25, is entering his second full season with Kansas City after being traded to the Chiefs in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After\u00a0signing a two-year extension<\/a>\u00a0worth $34.25 million dollars in April, Kelce enters his 11th season with the Chiefs as they attempt to become the first team in league history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Given the team\u2019s high profile \u2014 especially in the wake of Kelce\u2019s relationship with\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 questions have arisen about the team\u2019s focus heading into the season. However, Coach Reid recently\u00a0said he\u2019s not concerned<\/a>\u00a0about his star players enjoying themselves in the offseason.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs long as they\u2019re ready to go,\u201d Reid, 66, told\u00a0The Athletic<\/i>\u2019s \u201cScoop City\u201d podcast hosted by NFL insider\u00a0Diana Russini<\/strong>\u00a0and former NFL quarterback\u00a0Chase Daniel<\/strong>\u00a0earlier this month. \u201cTraining camp is kind of that proving ground. If you\u2019re not ready to go, it\u2019s going to be obvious quickly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Without hesitation,\u00a0Kelce answered<\/a>, \u201cAndy Reid!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Chiefs\u2019 training camp continues through mid-August, which coincides with the start of their preseason schedule on August 10.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Their quest for a third-straight Super Bowl begins in earnest when they kick off the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
