Brian Branch had a rough first half against the\u00a0Green Bay Packers<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Lions have lost their free safety after an illegal hit.<\/p>\n One of the more critical games on the\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u2019s Week 9 slate is a pivotal game between NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers and the\u00a0Detroit Lions<\/a>, and Branch will not be available for the entirety of the game.<\/p>\n Defensive back Brian Branch was ejected after a helmet-to-helmet hit with Green Bay Packers wide receiver Bo Melton.<\/p>\n The moment came in the second quarter as the Packers were facing a second-and-20.<\/p>\n Branch came in late and collided with Melton on an overthrown pass. The refs flagged him with unnecessary roughness, then ejected following a pause in the game.<\/p>\n He then had to be pushed away from the refs for yelling at them and would receive an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty moments after being ejected.<\/p>\n Brian Branch reportedly made a gesture towards Packers fans.<\/p>\n
