The 2024 season continues to deliver blow after blow to the\u00a0New York Jets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Heading into a\u00a0Thursday Night Football<\/em>\u00a0matchup against the\u00a0Houston Texans<\/a>\u00a0off five straight losses, the Jets were in desperate need of a hot start at MetLife Stadium. They nearly had it on a 19-yard touchdown run by receiver Malachi Corley, but the rookie\u00a0dropped the football to celebrate<\/a>\u00a0before he actually crossed the goal line.<\/p>\n

Initially called a touchdown, it was ruled a touchback after review because the football bounced out of the back of the end zone. Instead of the Jets taking a 7\u20130 lead, the game remained scoreless and the Texans received the ball at their own 20-yard line.<\/p>\n
