An interesting new detail has popped up in the viral story about the New York Yankees fan who\u00a0forcibly ripped the ball<\/a>\u00a0out of Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts\u2019s glove in Game 4 of the World Series.<\/p>\n

Rob Gronkowski joined the\u00a0Up & Adams Show<\/em>\u00a0to discuss his thoughts on Tuesday night\u2019s Yankees-Dodgers game, and he claimed he personally knew the fan and was friends with him back in college.<\/p>\n

Gronkowski, who played football for two seasons at the University of Arizona before being drafted by the New England Patriots, said the fan,\u00a0Austin Capobianco<\/a>, was actually on the Wildcats\u2019 ice hockey team.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s a little fun fact: That guy right there grabbing Mookie Betts\u2019 glove was my friend in college,\u201d Gronkowski said. \u201cHe was on the ice hockey team, and let me tell you, the whole hockey team, they were absolute maniacs\u2026 Him doing that represents him very well. He is all in for his teams, he is all in for the Yankees, I remember him talking about the Yankees all the time, how he loves them so much. And that describes him perfectly, just doing whatever it takes to help his team out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gronkowski then congratulated Capobianco for taking advantage of his \u201cmoment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a beauty,\u201d Gronkowski continued. \u201cI just wanna say congratulations for shining when your moment came.\u201d<\/p>\n
