MSNBC used Nazi rally clips during its coverage of former President Donald Trump\u2019s historic campaign event at Madison Square Garden in a desperate last-ditch bid to frighten voters into supporting the floundering Democratic ticket.<\/p>\n

The left-wing network weaved archival footage from the 1939 Nazi rally into the broadcast of Trump\u2019s Sunday rally, which saw the iconic New York City venue packed to the rafters with jubilant supporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat jamboree happening right now, in that place, is particularly chilling, because in 1939, more than 20,000 supporters of a different fascist leader \u2013 Adolf Hitler \u2013 packed the Garden for a so-called \u2018pro-America rally,\u2019\u201d Washington Post columnist, MSNBC contributor and avowed Trump hater Jonathan Capehart said breathlessly while rolling the footage.<\/p>\n

Capehart\u2019s juxtaposition of the two videos was blasted as \u201cshameful\u201d by conservatives, who pointed out the diversity of the crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday\u2019s Trump rally was filled with Americans from every walk of life including orthodox, conservative, reform, and secular Jews. I saw a woman in a burka. It wasn\u2019t anything like a Nazi rally. Shame on MSNBC,\u201d\u00a0wrote one X user<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Others pointed out that Holocaust survivor Jerry Wartski was among those in attendance<\/p>\n

Tesla founder Elon Musk, who spoke at the rally, also blasted MSNBC \u2014 the No. 2 cable news network \u2014 as the \u201cscum of the Earth\u201d on X, and some critics even went so far as to accuse the network of \u201cincitement<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quinnipiac University journalism ethics professor Ben Bogardus told The Post networks like MSNBC were \u201cblurring the lines\u201d between opinion-based commentary and news reporting, and that the rhetoric is reaching a fever pitch because we\u2019re so close to the election.<\/p>\n

But MSNBC has instead compared Trump supporters to Nazis and trotted out hackneyed and over-the-top comparisons between the former president and history\u2019s greatest monster.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning\u2019s broadcast of \u201cMorning Joe,\u201d cohost Mika Brzezinski clutched her pearls as she slammed Trump\u2019s rally as \u201cnormalizing hatred\u201d and issued a dire, unfounded warning.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s not mince words about what that leads to: This is the process that leads to fascism,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a guest on \u201cMorning Joe,\u201d presaged that Trump\u2019s MSG event was no ordinary campaign event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was not just a political rally. This was also not just a campaign rally. I think it\u2019s very important for people to understand that these are mini January 6 rallies,\u201d the \u201cSquad\u201d member said with a completely straight face.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are mini \u2018stop the steal\u2019 rallies. These are rallies to prime an electorate into rejecting the results of an election if it doesn\u2019t go the way they want.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Nazi comparisons rang particularly hollow, prompting some critics to say it reflects badly on the media establishment as a whole.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t hate the media enough,\u201d posted Republican pundit Colin Rugg. \u201cHolocaust survivor Jerry Wartski was in attendance at the rally this evening, along with other Jews who were supporting Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wartski, 94, endorsed Trump last week in a campaign video and\u00a0slammed Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a>\u00a0for referring to the ex-president as a \u201cfascist.\u201d<\/p>\n
