Should\u00a0Ryan Reynolds<\/a>\u00a0give up playing Deadpool anytime soon, he has one potential replacement in mind:\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>!<\/p>\n

When Reynolds, 47, appeared on\u00a0The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a>\u00a0on Monday, July 22 to promote his new movie\u00a0Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em><\/a>, the actor\u00a0once again denied<\/a>\u00a0that his and his wife\u00a0Blake Lively<\/a>‘s friend Swift, 34, features in the film at all.<\/p>\n

“I will say this \u2014 we don’t really have cameos as much as surprises. No, it’s true,” he said, after host\u00a0Jimmy Fallon<\/a>\u00a0asked in particular if the musician cameos in the film. “I wish, Taylor \u2014 if I ever stop, she’d make a good Deadpool. Funny, funny, funny.”<\/p>\n

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans and Swifties alike have speculated for months that Swift, whom Reynolds,\u00a0Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>\u00a0director Shawn Levy and costar\u00a0Hugh Jackman<\/a>\u00a0were seen\u00a0spending time with<\/a>\u00a0in the fall of 2023,\u00a0may appear in the new movie<\/a>.\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>\u00a0previously\u00a0confirmed that Swift does not appear in the film<\/a>\u00a0back in June.<\/p>\n

“There are surprises,” Reynolds reiterated of what cameos\u00a0Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>\u00a0does feature. “I would say the folks that do show up in the movie, that somehow I have no idea how we’ve managed to keep it secret. . . I would say there are more surprises because they have beginnings, middles and ends. It’s not just like ‘Hey! There’s the person!’ and we move on. They’re there for a reason.”<\/p>\n

On\u00a0The Tonight Show<\/em>, Reynolds maintained that making\u00a0Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>, the third entry in his\u00a0Deadpool<\/em>\u00a0franchise, proved one of his favorite experiences in his three decades working in film and television. The movie marks the first\u00a0Deadpool\u00a0<\/em>entry as a Marvel Cinematic Universe film; the previous two movies were produced by 20th Century Fox, prior to Disney’s acquisition of the company in 2019.<\/p>\n

Despite the significant hype surrounding\u00a0Deadpoool & Wolverine<\/em>, which reunites Reynolds and Jackman’s beloved superhero characters for the first time since 2009’s\u00a0X-Men Origins: Wolverine<\/em>, Reynolds joked he does not intend to play Deadpool a fourth time.<\/p>\n

“Oh God no. My wife and children will divorce me,” he said. “Jimmy, I have no prenup with any of them. I will be capital ‘B’ broke and, in turn, probably doing\u00a0Deadpool 4<\/em>.”<\/p>\n
