Former\u00a0Chicago Bears<\/a>\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Jay Cutler<\/a>\u00a0was arrested in Tennessee this week after he rear-ended a driver.<\/p>\n That crash led to his arrest, but he tried his best to get out of it.<\/p>\n More details have emerged in former\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0quarterback Jay Cutler\u2019s DUI arrest, and it has been revealed that the driver that he rear-ended told officers the former Chicago Bears quarterback offered him $2,000 not to call the police, an arrest affidavit obtained by NBC News\u00a0stated.<\/a><\/p>\n The driver told authorities Cutler offered him $2,000 if he did not call police and attempted to flee the scene before officers arrived.<\/p>\n Police on the scene said the 41-year-old had bloodshot eyes and was slurring his words during the encounter.<\/p>\n \u201cDuring their conversation with Cutler, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol,\u201d a release from the Franklin Police Department stated. \u201cCutler was also slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes. Cutler refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was obtained through a blood search warrant.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Jay Cutler allegedly told police he had not consumed alcohol before later admitting to have had \u201ca little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n A search of Jay Cutler\u2019s vehicle saw officers finding a loaded pistol and a rifle.<\/p>\n In the end, Cutler was arrested on charges of DUI, possession of a handgun while under the influence, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, and implied consent.<\/p>\n He was booked in the Williamson County Jail and given a $5,000 bond.
