Liam Payne<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s preliminary autopsy report reveals that he\u00a0died from multiple injuries<\/a>\u00a0involving \u201cinternal and external hemorrhage,\u201d\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0can confirm.<\/p>\n

The former One Direction singer suffered \u201cmultiple traumas,\u201d\u00a0which contributed to his death<\/a>, according to the report obtained by\u00a0Us<\/em>\u00a0on Thursday, October 17. (Payne died on Wednesday, October 16, at the age of 31.)<\/p>\n

The Forensic Medical Corps doctors documented 25 injuries, including \u201ccranioencephalic injuries were severe enough to cause death.\u201d The officials added that Payne\u2019s hemorrhages in his skull, chest, abdomen and limbs \u201ccontributed to the mechanism of death<\/p>\n

The doctors noted that \u201cadditional tests\u201d have been requested to confirm their findings. A toxicology report as well as a histopathological and biochemical test have been requested as well.<\/p>\n

The preliminary autopsy also determined that Payne\u2019s injuries did not \u201csuggest the involvement of third parties.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us<\/em>\u00a0confirmed on Wednesday that\u00a0Payne fell to his death<\/a>\u00a0while staying at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Argentina. The following day, police sources told\u00a0Us<\/em>\u00a0that all that is known is that \u201che fell\u201d from the third floor of the hotel, but \u201cit is not known whether he jumped\u201d or it was an accidental fall.<\/p>\n

Prior to Payne\u2019s death, police\u00a0responded to a 911 call<\/a>\u00a0after 5 p.m. local time saying that there was an \u201caggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol\u201d on the premises. Payne fell from his balcony before medical professionals could arrive on scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,\u201d Buenos Aires emergency services chief\u00a0Alberto Crescenti<\/strong>\u00a0said in a statement on Wednesday, according to\u00a0La Nacion<\/em>. \u201cBased on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.\u201d<\/p>\n

Payne\u2019s death is\u00a0currently under investigation<\/a>\u00a0after the City Police\u2019s Mobile Criminalistics Unit found substances inside the late singer\u2019s room.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first glance \u2014 and pending confirmation from testing \u2014 [they] appeared to be narcotics and alcoholic beverages, as well as various broken objects and furniture,\u201d according to a report obtained by\u00a0Us<\/em>\u00a0on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor\u2019s Office No. 14 is focused on \u201creconstructing the circumstances\u201d of Payne\u2019s death and attempting to determine \u201cthe possible involvement of third parties in the events leading up to the victim\u2019s death.\u201d<\/p>\n

While officials are looking for answers, Payne\u2019s friends, family and fans\u00a0are mourning his loss<\/a>. \u201cWe are utterly devastated by the news,\u201d one of his family members told\u00a0MailOnline<\/em>\u00a0at their home in England.<\/p>\n

Liam is survived by\u00a0his son, Bear<\/a>, whom he welcomed with\u00a0Cheryl Cole<\/strong>\u00a0in 2017.
