Over a year after Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift went public with their relationship, Kayla Nicole, who previously dated the Kansas City Chiefs player, admitted she still receives hate online.<\/p>\n

Kayla Nicole<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is ready to let the past go.<\/p>\n

The sports journalist\u2014who dated\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on-and-off between 2017 and 2022\u2014recently detailed what it\u2019s like making an enemy of some\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>fans, purely from being Travis\u2019 ex.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just online chaos doesn\u2019t impact me,\u201d she told WNBA player\u00a0Angel Reese<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>during the Oct. 10 episode of\u00a0Unapologetically Angel<\/em><\/a>\u00a0podcast. \u201cIt does. Even to this day.\u201d<\/p>\n

And while Kayla agreed with Angel that she and Travis broke up on good terms, she noted that her social media is still filled with unsolicited hate comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou could go to my most recent post and it\u2019ll be people debating why I\u2019m worthless and how I\u2019ll never be a talented person,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd I have no career and I\u2019m a mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

But over a year into Taylor and Travis\u2019 public relationship, Kayla has made her peace with the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has nothing to do with me,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think there\u2019s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people. And it\u2019s unfortunate because I\u2019ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Kayla has addressed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the Eras Tour performer\u2019s relationship. In fact, she recently told off haters point blank.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m unproblematic\u2014mind my business,\u201d Kayla wrote in\u00a0an April 2024 X, formerly Twitter<\/a>, post. \u201cNever respond to the constant vitriol. Solid as they come & don’t expect a pat on the back for it either.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cJust know everyone has a breaking point & would love for \u201cyall\u201d (because you know exactly who you are) to leave me alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The influencer has even done her best to separate herself from the hysteria of Taylor and Travis\u2019 relationship\u2014unfollowing\u00a0Patrick Mahomes<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Brittany Mahomes<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on social media shortly after the aforementioned couple went public, and Brittany became swift friends with Taylor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reality is I know these people in real life,\u201d Kayla Nicole told\u00a0People<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in 2023. \u201cAnd so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made.”<\/p>\n

Kayla added that while there is \u201clove\u201d for Patrick, Brittany and Travis\u2014she publicly separated herself out of self-preservation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings are happening so quickly and so publicly,\u201d she explained. \u201cI have to protect myself. That’s really all that is.\u201d<\/p>\n

July 2023: So, Make the Friendship Bracelets<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Taylor Swift\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>‘s love story began in July 2023, when the singer’s Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.<\/p>\n

As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of\u00a0giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it<\/a>. However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.<\/p>\n

“I was disappointed\u00a0that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,”\u00a0Travis shared on\u00a0the July 26 episode\u00a0of his\u00a0New Heights<\/em>\u00a0podcast. “So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”<\/p>\n

After publicly recounting his fumble\u2014a move\u00a0Taylor would later describe as “metal as hell”<\/a>\u2014Travis decided to\u00a0shoot his shot<\/a>\u00a0and invite the Grammy winner to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.<\/p>\n

By early September, a source close to the situation told E! News that Travis and Taylor were “texting and talking here and there<\/a>.”<\/p>\n
