Kayla Nicole, the ex-girlfriend of NFL tight end Travis Kelce, has issued advice to anyone dating a sporting superstar \u2013 as she implored partners to \u201calways have your own\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Kansas City Chiefs megastar was in an on-off relationship with the influencer for five years before the pair called it a day back in 2022. Since then, the three-time Super Bowl champion has embarked on a high-profile romance with chart-topping singer Taylor Swift, with their union playing out in the glare of the spotlight.<\/p>\n

Already boasting significant fame as a result of his heroics on the football field, Kelce\u2019s renown has risen to stratospheric levels in the past year amid the intrigue surrounding his personal life. Now, former love Nicole has reflected on her own relationship with the 35-year-old.<\/p>\n

Opening up on her experience of dating one of the NFL\u2019s most recognizable figures, she issued some words of wisdom to anyone who finds themselves in that situation in the future. She professed on Angel Reese\u2019s Podcast: \u201cMy biggest advice in dating an athlete is to always have your own.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is really easy to get caught up in their dream, their vision for their life. Something that I had to learn early on was that the relationship could be over tomorrow and what do you have? At the time it was a long-distance relationship, I was going back-and-forth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in-between apartments and thought \u2018it\u2019s cool, we\u2019re going to get married and I\u2019m going to move into the house, I don\u2019t really need an apartment\u2019,\u201d the social media star explained, as she outlined how their relationship played out. \u201cWe broke up, my lease was up, my lease on my car was up all at the same time<\/p>\n

\u201cThankfully we ended up getting back together but from that point moving forward I was like I don\u2019t care who I date, I\u2019m going to always have my own place, my own car. Support their career my prioritize my own goals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole also recalled the pressure of being in a relationship with a household name as she explained what impact that can have on a person. \u201cI think the combination of everything is the perfect storm to make you want to disappear from the world entirely.<\/p>\n

\u201cBehind closed doors, the hardest part is losing a partner, a best friend, speaking every day to cutting ties. Then you throw in social media. I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and online chaos didn\u2019t impact me, even to this day.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cYou could go to my most recent posts and people would be debating why I am worthless. It is nothing to do with me.
